A double challenge for the Veneto-based team: IRCup finale in Friuli and the CIRT tricolour round in Sardinia. International crews set to ignite the stages with Skoda Fabia RS Rally2, Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 and a wealth of ambition.
Ampezzo and Berchidda: two settings, two battles, one common denominator. MS Munaretto is gearing up for a high-intensity weekend, with its drivers divided between the grand finale of the 2025 International Rally Cup in Friuli Venezia Giulia and the 22nd edition of the Rally dei Nuraghi e del Vermentino, valid for the Italian Gravel Rally Championship.
AMPEZZO: A THRILLING FINALE FOR THE 2025 IRCUP
In Ampezzo, it will be Bostjan Avbelj carrying the team colours: the Slovenian driver, fresh from a remarkably consistent season, is not satisfied with the Promotion title alone and aims to raise the stakes in the IRCup’s decisive showdown. Once again, he will be at the wheel of the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 #3, alongside friend and co-driver Andrejka Damijan.
With car number 18, Sweden’s Mille Johansson makes his return to Italian tarmac after gaining experience on Czech asphalt. He will drive a Pirelli-shod Skoda RS, co-driven by Johan Gronvall.
Adding further variety to Munaretto’s line-up is Massimo Dal Ben, paired with Chiara Corso on the notes. Following the bitter retirement at the Rally del Casentino, the Veneto driver will seek redemption in the Carnia setting with the Renault Clio S1600 #27.
Eyes will also be on young Estonian Jaspar Vaher, who makes his international comeback with great enthusiasm after his accident at Barum. He will take on the challenge at the wheel of the Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 #39, together with Rait Jansen.
The programme kicks off on Friday, 26 September at 18:00 with two runs over the “Passo Pura” (13.60 km) and two over the spectacular “Voltois” (2.32 km). On Saturday 27, four decisive stages await: a double pass over “Verzegnis” (7.49 km) and the feared “Val di Lauco” (21.09 km). The prize-giving ceremony is scheduled for 17:30 in Piazza Zona Libera 1944.
BERCHIDDA: SARDINIAN CHALLENGE AT THE “VERMENTINO”
In Sardinia, at the 22nd Rally dei Nuraghi e del Vermentino, MS Munaretto fields Benjamin Korhola, ready to switch from Lazio asphalt to the Sardinian gravel. The young Finnish talent will compete in the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 #6, alongside Kristian Temonen.
Also making his return is a familiar face for the team: Tuscan driver Luca Cecchettini, a long-standing gentleman driver, navigated by Paolo Garavaldi and behind the wheel of a Skoda Fabia Evo #15.
The event, fifth round of the 2025 CIRT, will also count towards Zone 9 Rally Cup standings.
The programme begins on Friday, 26 September with Qualifying Stage and Shakedown in Berchidda, followed at 14:00 by the ceremonial start in main square. Immediately afterwards, crews will tackle two passes over the Tula-Erula, with regrouping in Erula before returning to service in Berchidda, and finally heading into overnight regroup at the sport field.
On Saturday, 27 September, the battle intensifies with six special stages totalling 68.66 km. The event will conclude at 15:30 with the prize-giving ceremony and the tricolour podium in the main square.
