MS MUNARETTO BETWEEN SICILY, THE APENNINES AND SWEDEN WITH FOUR CREWS AT THE START

Avbelj and Nucita set for the Targa Florio in the team’s Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 cars. Villa returns to the asphalt of the Rally degli Abeti, while Buteikis prepares for his gravel debut at Rally Nyköping with the Lancia Ypsilon Rally4.

MS Munaretto is preparing for another high-intensity weekend, split between Italian asphalt and Swedish gravel, with a sporting programme that confirms the Schio-based team’s presence on several fronts and with cars of different technical backgrounds.

The first stage will be the 2026 Targa Florio, a historic fixture of the Italian rally calendar, ready to ignite the battle on the Sicilian roads. The event will have its heart between Palermo, the Campus of the University of Palermo and the Madonie, with a route of around 500 kilometres overall and 141 kilometres of special stages.

Bostjan Avbelj will return to action on the Targa Florio roads, co-driven by Andrejka Damijan, in the number 4 Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 prepared by MS Munaretto. The Slovenian driver arrives at the Sicilian event after his victory at Rally del Bardolino and the impressive comeback he put together at Rally Il Ciocco, two important signs in what is already proving to be a very solid phase of the season.

Alongside him, once again in MS Munaretto colours, will be Andrea Nucita, ready to get back behind the wheel after winning the Premio Promozione at Il Ciocco. The Sicilian driver will be co-driven by Maurizio Messina in the number 9 Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, on an event that will also carry particular emotional weight for him, given how deeply the rally is tied to the territory and to his own sporting history.

The team’s programme will then continue at the Rally degli Abeti e dell’Abetone, on the asphalt roads of the Montagna Pistoiese. Pierangelo Villa will be at the start, fresh from his class victory at the Trofeo Maremma, alongside Michael Adam Berni in the number 22 Renault Clio S1600. A car that brings the appeal of naturally aspirated engines back to the fore, with their direct, physical way of reading the road, on a route whose most anticipated passages will include historic stages such as Torri di Popiglio and Il Melo.

The international front will instead take MS Munaretto to Sweden, to Rally Nyköping, where Markas Buteikis will make his gravel debut with number 42 in the Lancia Ypsilon Rally4, co-driven by Titas Čapkauskas. For the crew, it will be an important step ahead of the BAUHAUS Royal Rally of Scandinavia, the European event scheduled from 22 to 24 May with its base in Karlstad and Färjestad. Rally Nyköping will offer almost 95 timed kilometres, with the start and finish in the heart of the city at Stora Torget, providing a useful test bed to build feeling, rhythm and reference points on gravel before the continental commitment.

For MS Munaretto, it will therefore be a weekend that brings together ambition, continuity and development. The Schio-based team confirms a wide-ranging presence and a technical structure ready to work across very different scenarios.
