LANCIA: THE RETURN TO THE WORLD OF RALLYING AND MS MUNARETTO’S CHOICE FOR YOUNG TALENTS IN 2025

The year 2025 marks a historic moment: the return of Lancia to the competitive scene with the new Ypsilon Rally4. This is a significant step for a brand that has written legendary pages in rallying history and now aims to reclaim its place. This comeback is not just a tribute to the past but a forward-looking vision for the future of rallying.

Years after Peugeot’s golden era, characterised by thousands of participations in events with iconic models like the 207 S2000 and 208 R2/R5 across Europe, MS Munaretto is ready to renew its trust in the Stellantis Group.

Following the positive technical experience with the 208 Rally4 in the Junior ERC 2024, MS Munaretto has decided to expand its offerings for young talents. Alongside the established fleet of Skoda Fabia Rally2 cars, the team will introduce the new Lancia Ypsilon Rally4.

These vehicles will be available to young drivers eager to gain international experience in the Junior ERC, as well as those participating in the upcoming Lancia Trophies. While the full details of these events have yet to be revealed, one key aspect is already certain: the winner of the Italian Trophy will receive an official Lancia programme for the Junior ERC 2026 with the same car.

The project is already in full development at MS Munaretto. “Once we decided to invest in the Ypsilon, we immediately reached out to some of Europe’s most promising young drivers,” said Alex Munaretto, Team Principal of MS Munaretto. “Together, we are exploring programmes and collaboration opportunities to provide the necessary support for developing their careers in rallying.”

The first Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 is expected to be delivered by mid-February 2025.
