From the gravel tracks of the Hungarian Junior ERC to the legendary Madonie of the Targa Florio, and down to the Ligurian Riviera for the CRZ — MS Munaretto is gearing up for a high-stakes weekend across three fronts, with five crews in action
JUNIOR ERC – VI RALLY HUNGARY
The Junior ERC heats up as the European Rally Championship shifts from Spain’s scorching tarmac to the Hungarian loose-surface challenge. Scheduled from 9–11 May, the sixth edition of Rally Hungary marks the second round of the Junior ERC, once again supported by Hankook as the official tyre supplier.
Centred around Veszprém in western Hungary, the rally promises action and attrition, with 65 entries — 21 of which are Junior ERC contenders — set to take on a demanding gravel course steeped in unpredictability and tradition. Thirteen special stages lie ahead, totalling 193 km of competitive distance and over 600 km in road sections. The message is clear: anyone chasing championship points must be sharp from the shakedown.
MS Munaretto continues to show its commitment to the continental series with a robust Junior line-up of three crews.
Jaspar Vaher, co-driven by Sander Pruul, returns to Hungary aiming to build on last year’s podium and bounce back from the technical retirement at Rallye Elba. This will be his debut on gravel in the new Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 — a fresh challenge and a proving ground for both man and machine. The number 46 will be displayed on their doors.
Matteo Doretto is back in action and looking to reinforce his solid start to the season, following a top-ten finish on the tricky roads of Andalusia. Still paired with co-driver Andrea Budoia, the Friulian youngster will take on the Hungarian gravel in his Peugeot 208 Rally4, bearing the number 50.
Completing the MS Munaretto trio is Finland’s Tuukka Kauppinen, eager to convert the disappointment of Rally Regione Piemonte into a statement performance. Alongside trusted navigator Veli-Pekka Karttunen, he too will debut the new Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 on European soil. Sporting number 61, the Scandinavian pairing is determined to make their presence known on the loose.
TARGA FLORIO – CIAR PROMOTION
While the ERC plays out in Hungary, MS Munaretto will also tackle the timeless legend of the world’s oldest rally: the Targa Florio. Representing the team on the iconic Madonie stages will be Bostjan Avbelj, fresh off a podium at Rallye Elba and currently leading the CIAR Promozione standings after two wins, the latest amongst the vineyards of Piemonte.
For the Sicilian tarmac, Avbelj switches from the Skoda Fabia EVO used previously and steps into the latest RS Rally2 version. Carrying number 3, the Slovenian pairing with co-driver Damijan Andrejka signals both ambition and substance heading into this high-profile weekend.
The 2025 Targa Florio will feature ten tarmac stages totalling 113.70 competitive kilometres, offering a route steeped in both tradition and technical challenge — with constantly changing pace, varied surfaces and spectacular landscapes. A true test of heritage and pace.
RALLY DELLE PALME – CRZ ZONE 2
No rest for Jacopo Araldo and Lorena Boero, who, fresh from a podium at Rally Valle d’Aosta, are set to return to action at Rally delle Palme — part of the Coppa Rally di Zona 2.
The Piedmontese crew will once again rely on their trusted Skoda Fabia RS Rally2, which has proven to be both competitive and reliable. Racing with number 3, they head to Liguria with consistency and ambition on their side.
Rally delle Palme features six special stages, covering 60.46 competitive kilometres. The event officially kicks off in Bordighera on Saturday 10 May at 16:00 with the ceremonial start, with 70 crews expected to line up.
Along the scenic corners of the Ligurian Riviera, Araldo and Boero will aim for another strong result to continue a season full of promise and momentum.
