MS MUNARETTO SETS SIGHTS HIGH AT RALLY DEL TARO: THREE CREWS LINED UP FOR THE SECOND IRCUP ROUND

The Veneto-based team heads to the roads of Emilia with confidence and ambition: Avbelj targets the podium in the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, Vaher looks for redemption in the Lancia Ypsilon, while Dal Ben prepares to make his season debut in the Renault Clio S1600.

It’s another high-intensity weekend for MS Munaretto, as the team gets ready to play its trio of aces at the Rally Internazionale del Taro, the second round of the 2025 International Rally Cup. The Italian outfit will be fielding three crews, ready to do battle on the challenging special stages of Emilia-Romagna, in what is shaping up to be a fiercely contested event: no fewer than 105 crews are set to start, promising a thrilling and highly selective rally.

Organised by Scuderia San Michele, the rally returns to the province of Parma from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 May, featuring a route of 91 timed kilometres spread across eight special stages. The towns of Bedonia and Borgo Val di Taro are once again confirmed as the event’s main hubs.

Leading the charge for MS Munaretto is Slovenia’s Bostjan Avbelj, seeded number 1 and co-driven by Elia De Guio. At the wheel of the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, Avbelj will be aiming to consolidate and improve on the third place he claimed at Rallye Elba, the opening round of the IRCup, contested in extremely tricky conditions. His goal is clear: to win and keep his championship campaign on track.

Estonian youngster Jaspar Vaher is also back in action, joined by Rait Jansen and once more behind the wheel of the number 52 Lancia Ypsilon Rally4. After an unfortunate debut at Elba, the talented driver is determined to bounce back on the demanding tarmac stages of Emilia, looking to convert his experience into valuable points.

Completing the line-up is Massimo Dal Ben, co-driven by Chiara Corso in the number 27 Renault Clio S1600. After a positive start to his 2024 campaign, the driver from Vicenza views Rally del Taro as the perfect opportunity to kick off his season. His passion for naturally aspirated cars remains strong, but his approach will be focused on growth and race strategy.

The weekend programme gets underway on the afternoon of Friday 23 May with scrutineering and admin checks in Bedonia, where the paddock will be bustling with activity until the evening. Saturday 24 May is shakedown day, scheduled from 9:00 to 14:00.
